Trabant Help

Date July 26, 2006

Life as Trabant Sussex Rep is a quiet one, so I was all excited when I had a message to phone someone back regarding their old Trabant that had been sitting in the garage for two years. I called him straight back when I had chance.

It turns out that, like all Trabants, it had quite a bit of history with it. This bloke used to drive it around until, out of the blue, the MOT station said it wouldn’t be worth testing as the body was rotten - and so in a garage for two years it has been since.

He wants to get it up and running again now and so found my number from a Trabant contact. I’m awaiting his call, but it looks like Saturday will be the day to visit the garage and see what we have….

    HI Steve,

Looks like there are 2 of us in Sussex now with the Trabi, I live in Eastbourne and am in the process of rebuilding my first Trabi.

As I have no engineering, fitting, mechanical, bodyworking, electical experience (been a computer consultant for 18 years) I will be after help from anyone that is kind enough to put up with me.

Back to you post……… Did you get the Trabant?

Fantastic news! Are you a member of the Trabant club? Did you know that there is TrabiUK based in Eastbourne where you can get spares and thing?

    Drop me an email…..

I went to have a look at the Trabant the other night and although it is quite rotten, the bloke wants me to help him with getting it back on the road :-o
